Ayoub Daliri

Ayoub Daliri is an assistant professor of Speech and Hearing Science in the College of Health Solutions. His research lies at the intersection of speech science, neuroscience, and engineering. His work aims at understanding the neural mechanisms underlying speech production and its disorders, such as stuttering. Specifically, he examines questions related to how the nervous system integrates different sensory modalities for controlling the speech articulatory system. To answer such questions, he uses kinematic and acoustic measurements of speech (e.g., under conditions of auditory or somatosensory feedback perturbations) in combination with electrophysiological recordings (EEG, ECoG) and neuroimaging techniques (fMRI, DTI). The long-term goal of his research is to conduct multidisciplinary, translational research that will result in tangible benefits to individuals with speech disorders.
