Luis Gerardo de la Fraga

Biography

He was born in Xalapa (pronounced as “Jalapa”) in the state of Veracruz, Mexico. From a very young age to fifteen he lived in Huatusco, right there in Veracruz, a beautiful town. He’s mexican and Doctor in Computer Engineering from the Autonomous University of Madrid ( UAM ), Spain. He did his predoctoral work at the National Center for Biotechnology-CSIC ( CNB ), Spain, in the Bioinformatics Unit. He obtained the degree of Master of Science in the Specialty of Electronics, in 1994, at the National Institute of Optical and Electronic Astrophysics ( INAOE ), Tonatzintla, Puebla, Mexico. He is Industrial Engineer in Electronics, in 1991, from the Technological Institute of Veracruz, Mexico. From April 1998 to August 2000 He worked as associate researcher C at the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos ( UAEM ), in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico. From September 2000 to August 2006, He worked in the Computing Section of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Cinvestav. From November 2001 to February 2006, He was Head of the Computer Section at Cinvestav. As of September 2006, the Computing Department was created at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the IPN ( Cinvestav ), in the Zacatenco unit, where He worked as a Cinvestav 3C researcher.
